Glyco® engine bearings

Glyco® (pronounced Glee-co) engine bearings are the leading engine bearing manufacturer in Europe. Glyco® are original equipment suppliers to most European car manufactures including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.

Glyco® invented a strip (material) manufacturing process called “sputtering” which is best suited for high load demands associated with heavy-duty diesel and high-performance petrol engines. By bombarding a source target of aluminium-tin alloy with a high-energy argon plasma, the aluminium and tin alloys are freed from the target and deposited as the running surface on specially prepared bearings. The physical vapour deposition process produces an exceptionally uniform alloy matrix with superior wear resistance, capable of withstanding very high loads.

A full range of camshaft, conrod, bushing, main and thrust engine bearings are available to suit European applications.
